Hi, my name is Rod, I was born in England, studied a Bsc (Hons) and PhD in Chemistry, then went on to have a successful career in the energy industry, what many people would consider a dream job as a commodity trader, most recently in Amsterdam. I had a good income, an enjoyable job that I liked a lot, and then this changed.

For a couple of years a recurring thought kept appearing that I need to awaken. I did not know what that meant and did not really pay it too much attention, though did start becoming interested in hidden ancient history, realising it was not what is taught from mainstream sources.

This culminated with me meeting someone who it felt like I already knew and it felt like I had fallen in love with her, of course what had actually happened was that I remembered that I loved her. This very quickly became a very intense relationship and ended suddenly after a short time. After just a few days, I started to feel a tangible wrongness, something was not right with the world I was experiencing, I was no longer experiencing a normal life. This did not make any sense at the time, so I decided to try yoga with the idea it would help me centre (which I didn't even know the meaning of).

At my first yoga lesson we were guided through a series of gentle exercises and I could feel huge amounts of energy passing up through my body, then eventually out through my crown. Strange as it sounds, this did not excite me or scare me - I just experienced this from a state of surrender because I was already in a very detached state that week. In savasana I unguided entered a state where I perceived my body, the room, and also other places like in a dream. After the class, whilst cycling home, I saw that everything was beautiful, everything was connected, and then I skidded crossing a tram line in the heavy rain of Amsterdam, experiencing the immense shock of returning to the density of everyday life, plus a few bruises, as I hit the road.

Over the next days, weeks and months I experienced intense and varied spiritual symptoms that I did not understand, however, I would always meet the right people at that moment to guide me through what I was experiencing and onto the next stage. Regular practice of Transformation yoga at Sai Mithra yoga school in Amsterdam was very beneficial help me to embody the changes that had occurred. Also of particular importance to this journey were taking part in two trainings with Kabira (CORE Training then HEARTCORE).

I am grateful for the many teachers who came into my life and I am fortunate to have studied under, including, Ganga Hoogendoorn & Arthur Bonarius (Transformational yoga and Prana Process), Kristian Winge (Transformational yoga), Karlijn Kouwenhoven (CORE Training & HEARTCORE), Jose Antonio Manchado (Dharma Shamanic System), Heidi van Herpen & Iris van den Berg (Reiki Usui)
